Do You Have Any Of The Following Symptoms?
  • swollen red gums that bleed easily
  • gums that have shrunk from the teeth
  • persistent bad breath
  • a bad taste in your mouth
  • abscesses between teeth and gums
  • loose teeth

These symptoms are usually a sign of gum disease (called periodontal disease or periodontitis) which may be treated by periodontal therapy. Click here for more information about periodontitis. There are a number of different treatments available for periodontitis and at Proactive Perio we will discuss with you the most appropriate for your case. Periodontal therapy treats and helps to prevent periodontitis by removing plaque and calculus deposits from the tooth and root surface (called debridement).

Non-surgical debridement treatment is undertaken initially in the practice chair over a number of appointments. Provided that the tooth surface is then kept clean and free of plaque generally periodontitis will be kept under control. If the tissue around your teeth is unhealthy and cannot be repaired with non-surgical treatment periodontal surgery may be necessary in order to gain access to the root surfaces.

Types of Treatment available:

Periodontal/Gum Surgery

Dental Implants

LANAP Protocol

Guided Biofilm Therapy
