At Proactive Perio we can complete the following implant procedures:

Single Tooth Implant

If you have lost one tooth due to trauma or a tooth cannot be repaired then an implant is a permanent solution to replace the tooth with a crown to give you the best functionality.

Multiple implants or full mouth reconstructions involving implants

Replacing multiple teeth using dental implants with individual crowns or with an implant-supported fixed bridge gives your teeth a level of fit, feel and functionality that is not possible with other treatment options. The process is often completed over multiple visits.

Implant assisted dentures

In some cases, instead of a crown the top of an implant can be fitted with special clips that will hold a denture which minimises movement of the denture. Dental implants in this circumstance allow you to keep your teeth where they belong – in your mouth. No more worrying that your dentures might slip or fall out. You brush, floss and care for teeth that have been replaced using dental implants exactly the way you would natural teeth – in your mouth.

Small diameter or narrow diameter implants

Small diameter or narrow diameter implants (SDIs or NDIs), are dental implants that are smaller than the most commonly used dental implant sizes. SDIs or NDIs are placed through less-invasive techniques are often used to secure a complete lower or loose plate and in patients who are not candidates for traditional dental implant surgery.

Full arch implant placement

Full arch implant placement is an alternative approach to place a full arch (top or bottom set) of fixed replacement teeth. Four or more dental implants are used to stabilise the replacement teeth. The full arch implant placement concept involves placing implants in available bone, which minimises the need for bone grafting.  Special abutments allow a temporary set of replacement teeth to be placed the same day and used with a modified diet while gum tissues heal and the implants integrate with natural bone. After about six months, the final bridge is then placed.

Full arch implant placement is not appropriate for all patients and cases, so it is best to discuss this with Dr Barker about the best option for you.
